Why I came to GiFT

I'd actually been looking for an internship since last year.
There are more and more people who become designers coming from a general university, but none of them happened to be around me. When I was looking into how to become a designer, I learned that a lot of people become designers through internships, and that's what got me started.
But back then I had neither connections nor luck, and I never came across a company willing to take me on.
It was toward the end of my third year of university, as job hunting started approaching. I wasn't studying design at university, I had no internship experience, and even if I went to a specialized school from here, I didn't have the tuition for it. I thought becoming a designer just wasn't in the cards for me, and that I had no choice but to give up.
But it occurred to me that if I gave up at this, my very first career step, I'd probably end up giving up from here on forever. I felt like I had to floor it right here, right now. So I used the money my grandfather had left me for my wedding or having children, without asking, to pay for a specialized school instead. And then I thought, if I don't have connections, I'll just have to make them myself. So I started putting myself out there on Note, Twitter, anywhere I could. On Twitter, I'd DM people directly who said things like "I became a designer coming from a general university!" to ask for advice, or post whatever I made along with hashtags like "#todaysprogress" lol

This all got long, but that's the situation I was in when I started looking for an internship again. And that's how I found GiFT. I saw they were recruiting on Twitter, and when I quietly checked out their website, I thought their agritech work, their logo, the whole vibe of the site, their blog — all of it was so good, aaaah. lol (Not just flattering them here lol.) I want to make this internship the engine that drives my own growth too.

What I want to work hard at at GiFT

The reason I stepped into the world of design was that I got excited by design that makes difficult things intuitively easier to understand, or makes everyday experiences more enjoyable and more pleasant.
And it's because I want to keep living as a designer in a world where fun experiences like that will only keep increasing from here.
So, in order to keep creating that kind of design going forward, I want to soak up as much as I can and ask as many questions as I can.
