We Released Thought Recorder, a Figma Plugin for Keeping a Commit History of Your Designs

Hello, I'm Ioroi, a backend engineer at GiFT Inc.

I recently released a Figma plugin, so I wanted to write about how it came to be.

How It Came About

We built this plugin in response to feedback from our designers: "It'd be nice if Figma had something like Github's commit history," and "It's a pain digging through files when I want to reference a design I made for another project."

How to Use It

1. Launch the plugin and select a frame
2. Enter the name of the project you want to reference
3. In the "project name" field, type the project name or double-click to select it
4. Fill in the details in the "comment" field
5. Click the Record button to save
6. The selected design and comment get added to the "🧠 {project name}" page
