We created a website communicating the SDGs initiatives at "Nagareyama Otakanomori S.C.," a commercial facility operated by Toshin Development Co., Ltd.
The keyword "SDGs" has become visible in all sorts of places, both public and private. At the same time, many people still see these initiatives as something undertaken by large corporations or national governments, with little relevance to their own daily lives.
Through interviews, we identified the challenge that these initiatives weren't being communicated effectively. Rather than framing SDGs as an abstract "good thing for society" distant from individuals, we set the concept of "localizing SDGs"—building a good town through SDGs initiatives so that the daily life of every citizen becomes better—and planned the content around that idea.
On the visual side as well, we pursued a look and feel true to "Nagareyama Otakanomori," expressing not just the operation of a commercial facility, but the idea of approaching the business as "town-building"—developing the area around Nagareyama Otakanomori together with citizens and local government.
